§ 17.56.060. Removal.

  • Signs that endanger the health, safety or welfare of the public shall be removed within five working days of receipt of service of the Code Enforcement Officer's written notice thereof. In cases of emergency, the Town may cause the immediate removal of a dangerous or defective sign, without notice, and shall assess the sign, property, or business owner for the cost of such removal. Nonconforming signs, abandoned signs, and signs which have been installed without a permit or which are otherwise found to be in violation of this Code shall be removed within five days of receipt of notice of nonconformance from the Code Enforcement Officer. Failure by an owner to remove any sign after notice to do so has been served shall entitle the Town to remove such sign and to assess the owner thereof the full cost of such removal.
