§ 17.56.010. Intent.

The purpose of these regulations is to promote the health, safety and welfare of the Town's residents. In establishing objectives to accomplish this purpose, recognition is given to the beauty and grandeur of the mountain scenery and its unique importance to the local economy and contentment of residents. Specific objectives are:
A.

To improve the visual environment and foster economic development while providing adequate standards for the display of signs;

B.

To ensure that the design, construction, installation, repair and maintenance of signs will not interfere with traffic safety, or otherwise endanger public safety;

C.

To ensure that Town rights-of-way are used in a manner consistent with the public interest;

D.

To minimize incompatibility between signs and their surroundings.
